10/29/13

1. Finish and review "Plasmolyze the Chargers" Lab
2. Notes: Facilitated diffusion and osmosis

H.W. Finish the "Plasmolyze the Chargers" lab analysis questions (the one with the anacharis plant)
Analysis:
  1. For the cell that was in distilled water, describe how osmosis occurred. Describe the movement of water by discussing the solute concentration of the inside of the cell as compared to the outside environment. Be sure to use the terms: hypotonic, diffusion, turgid.
  2. For the cell that was in salt water, describe how osmosis occurred. Describe the movement of water by discussing the solute concentration of the inside of the cell as compared to the outside environment. Be sure to use the terms: hypertonic, diffusion, plasmolysis.
  3. Why do plant cells thrive (live best) in hypotonic environments?
  4. Why do plants die along roads that are salted during the winter time?

AND Finish the Potato Lab Graph (this must be a line graph that graphs the class averages) (class average results can be found HERE)

CH. 7 TEST: MONDAY (FINAL DATE CHANGE)
